The “O” effect

Yups you all might be wondering if again I’m talking the Obama and Obamamania. But apart from that there are some good things under this “O Effect “ for India : Let’s Start :
  1. Obama: Just for obvious reason. The first “unwhite (I wouldn’t say Black ;-)) “president of US.
  2. Olympics: Yups, you heard it right. Year 2008 and India won gold in Olympics.
  3. Oscar: Again another “O”, for the first time India got nominations and I’m sure we would have our 1st award for sure this year.
  4. Outsourcing : Even this “O” has to do a lot with change in economic conditions of India. Don’t you think so?
So what next with “O”…. to come?
Keep Faith
Chakoli :)
PS: Thanks for the correction Phoneix. And Its is just about the global "positive changes" starting with "O". India just is having a greater impact.

well ,the cynical me feels that we Indians do not get Outraged and even if do, not for the right reasons.Most of us will watch slumdog millionaire but will not see the stark reality of living in slums, poverty and depravity that we feel that if we dont acknowledge will somehow cease to exist ....so we shud get outraged when anybody tries to take away our civic liberties,or tries to make us fight each other in the name of religion ,caste,creed ... why the lunatic fringe shows its strength but the silent majority keeps mum ...so in my view we need to get OUTRAGED but for the right reasons and then do something about it ...

@Mazak

yup very true of what u said...
I havent watched that movie myself... but it relates to slums as is said in newspaper...
Infact even I think, India could be potraited in a much better way then wt slumdog is representing...

Outside world still thinks india as a poor, lack of amenties, conservative people.... which is not true to an extend... I agree we have flaws... but not that much that you recognize us with that.

But I feel happy for AR rahmann... his music has done wonders.... and I m happy for him to be nominated... no one else... :D :D

Loved your "O" list. Whenever I see O,I think of Oprah. And bhale hi India as such wont win the OScar but we should be proud that a film set in India is nominated :) As far as Obama is concerned, I hope good things follow!
