Few things Left Unsaid – Book Review

This was the first book I purchased from flipkart. Well, I was impressed. On time delivery and delivery at your door step. What else you need and all that at some discount.

I read about the author Sudeep Nagarkar born in 1988, well to publish your own book at the age of 23 is a commendable job. Hats off to you. But book is bit disappointing.

First thing the publisher- srishti publications, they have jumbled up the pages . If you buy a book make sure to notice the page numbers from 72 to 89, they are not in sequence. That was really a bad impression for a person whose first book is getting published.

Now about the book, its an Indian Mills and Boon’s each page narrates the daily activities of the engineering days, each day of first year is described in detail. Its more like eating, talking, sleeping narration. Sometimes he has also described what they ordered in McD’s and Pizza hut !

The language is very normal as we use, plain English. Something coming up as a book well personally I don’t appreciate it.

Another thing, I really want to count how many times they have used ‘love you” miss you in that book. In fact that can be a contest for this book, one who guesses the exact count would get a free book signed by the author.Just Kidding  ;)

Then the story line may be a college goer would be all in dreams with this novel as a perfect romancing couple is described out there. A girl and a boy meet and then they fight, break up with each other and then they meet or not(Well you have to find out that). But there is nothing extra , that intensity and zeal are missing. I feel even if you skip 2-3 chapters, you won’t feel that you have missed the storyline. The gravity to bind us to a book is neglected.

And then the end, he tried putting some coincidences’ (well as is said by the author, it’s a  true love story) which I don’t feel to be the perfect ending. It could have been better.

Well, I didn’t enjoy it at all. You could improve Mr Sudeep Nagarkar.

Looks like a Karan Johar story written in a Novel. But then, I love romantic novels:)

well Mr.blogger, at first you have praised auhtor's effort to write at the age of 23 and expecting it to be without any mistakes..there may be but not 4000 people at a time can be wrong. its yet to release..also its a national bestseller borther..either you have failed miserably in relationships or expect everything to be fair always..just being pessimist abour anything does not make you cool..feel it rather than reading it...

Honestly I don't know how such people get published. This is the downgrading of the Indian literature scene. I know so many people with better language and linguistic skills who are younger than our author of 23. It's the Chetan Bhagat generation of producing trash that has gripped most of the Indian youth. It is sad to see the state of Indian literautre today. And to think, a few decades ago, we produced literary nobel laureates.

I m sick of same types of books now..same old love stories where boy is from engg college and then he falls in love. He makes mistale, the girl leaves. Then, he cries and in the end girl comes back. Whats there to read?

hello..
Just read the first 25 pages and closed the book to check its review on the web. On one hand he is saying that its a true story but the incidents and sequences are far away from reality and the kissing scene during ragging is truly a disaster. I have lost all hopes of finding sense in this book. Still, I'll try to continue it afterwards. If possible.

I saw this book on the stand....picked it up....read two sentences at the back...the words 'Aditya' and 'Engineering' were enough reasons for me to buy this book.
That's the name of the guy for whom I fell in life; the only one actually! And coincidence, he has studied engineering. So that's why I just wanted to possess a copy of this novel.
I had no intentions of reading this book. As it is I am not very fond of reading amateur writers.
But seriously, I read the first two pages, and I knew I cannot read this any further!! :P

I could not understand a word, you're in engineering 1st year (hardly 18 years old), you see a hot girl and unable to even talk in front of her and suddenly within two months you start calling her your wife (remember that you have not yet proposed her). I must say bravo!
A complete crap I would say. Few more details would have turned the book in a porn magazine!!!
Story in pieces

I agree totally with the first review, Chakoli. It's badly written, and does not describe anything in details apart from how much Aditya loves Riya. I have skipped the odd chapter here and there and can still carry on without missing anything, as there is nothing to miss. I have no idea who Aditya or Riya really are as there no story about them. I picked a few books up for a long flight and this was the only one I got bored with. Must say Chetan Bhagats latest book is fabulous. Sorry dear author.

I bought this book based on certain reviews on the site. It is definetely a good read if you like love stories. The story sounds quite frank and straight to the heart but what is worrying is the quality of writing. You feel you could have written better. Dont go for it if you are not used to reading love stories. And for anyone who is in love or broke up THIS ONE IS WRITTEN JUST FOR YOU.
