Just recently, one of our colleague is back from London after a long term assignment. And as it is raining here, the mess on road is somehow intolerable for people who come from abroad but then he started more of a comparison between the two and finally concluded that this place is Hell to live.
Somehow I didn’t utter a word but in my mind still those words were echoing. Put in some thought to it and came up with this…
Planned infrastructure, disciplined life, well furnished carpeted house, clean roads, and good connectivity. People greet you with a smile followed by hundreds and thousands of thank you , sorry and cheers!!!! No difference lies in what profession you are? How much income you have but still RACISM exists!!!
Being a female and standing in a crowded train surrounded by all types of people doesn’t makes you uncomfortable in London but just wearing a tight suit/top in India, and people will stare at you from head to feet as if you are not wearing anything. Ya, but may be because of this we don’t have girls getting pregnant at an age of 14-15.We don’t have a high ratio of broken marriages , it’s still hard to find people going for LIVE IN in India.
We still care our parents even if they are old , paralysed, sick and of no use to us!!!!If you miss an exit in a highway here, you have to drive another half an hour to reach to a services or see a round-about, in India you can stop , knock at any door and ask for directions. You don’t have to pay if you are thirsty “saarvajanik pyau/handpump/dhaba” are located well and are handy too ( unless you are addicted to BISLERI)!!!!
Here, “Bhikari” also belongs to a class…playing guitar/violin and asking for help or better to say BEGGING!!! But by god’s grace here children are not kidnapped and thrown on streets with broken legs and hands.Children are independent at an early stage and they become so independent that make them to throw their parents to an old age home!!!
No matter what the conditions are here!!! If you have an affinity to some place you just can’t shift your home to that place!!! You can try to build your home in a same manner. If “every little help “can prove to be a helping hand then why not, to be started by US???

Haaa.. now that I feel refreshed n healthy again ..
So u in 'Phir bhi dil hai Hindustani' mode.. love it!
Its not about how one is treated, how neat or good a place is.. I firmly believe that going to US/UK is like going on an exile.. its like going to jail.. where u cant meet ur own ppl, ur being sent away from home.. I seriously dont like it. I like home n homesoil!
@vrij...

BTW where r u going dear????
We will miss u a lot....
I think we make unnecessary comparisons between anything outside India and this country !!!
This is a fantastic place to be in and I say that after spending a good time in London... anyday I would just want to be here instead of living there... Staying for a while there still seems to be an ok thing to do..
I am not going to get into some details of what you wrote, because that kind of looked extreme to me... Having said that there are great things about the cities outside India and there are even greater things about this country !!! I love it !!!
I don't like people who go outside and start doing comparisions and talking crap about India and complain.. personally I think, like you said very correctly, we gotta make a difference here instead of singing bhajans about the foreign land !!!
u 9 the moment i start my pc in d morning, d first i check ur blog.........

Well well well....
I have generally noted this if u critizie about INDIA , its standard of living then people generally get angry cause of patriotrism I think.
Well guys just accept the truth, we are living in shit conditions. And if u know wht are the weak points then only you will do something to improve that.
See there are good and bad things about every society, and Just like we have a lot to learn, we have a lot not to forget! Unfortunately some of the things we seem to be learning are the wrong picks. Our society needs to learn how to respect women and kids. And just for the record, there's no place more racist than India. And our wisdom is often marred by "superstition".But our society has its strength in its love, its tolerance, and its ability to embrace n help everyone. Even though it's going down sadly, still it's the peace the love the respect n the intimacy that westerners run to india for, and we run to them leaving this!. So what if there's dirt outside, there's so much purity inside.
For me my country is my life!!! :)
Cheers!!!
@Phonix..
Agreed to what you said...
Our society needs to learn how to respect women and kids
yup thats the place where mentality peeps in..and an indian mentality even becoming an NRI couldnt chnage fr sure..
What u said abt RACISM...yup very true...
and what westerners look..we indians some how dont:-((
Duniya dekhi... but east ya west India is the best...
publik 2-3 months kya videsh jaate hain... apne aap ko angrez samajh lete hain...
give them 2-3 weeks.. they will b normal again...
@Ankur
Country club kya;-))
@Iceman :-))
hopefully...they just be normal..and not more abnormal;-))
Hmmm...
So u got angry/irritated whtever n I expected that. These r the normal emotions flowin from people who hears my critizim.
Ok see I love my country but that doesnt mean I can't critize it. The stuffs the guy told u is fact, n we have to accept it.
Whtz the problem in comparision, we all do it in every aspects of life.
But the issue is we have to fight and remove it. How many of you patriots follow traffic discipline, dont throw garbage on roads or streets, use public transport as much as possible , tell me??
All people say we LOVE INDIA, but hardly do nething for it.
Hypocrites.
hey we cant compare two differnt cultures...
its not right...every culture has got its positive and negative...
so london is great at its place while india at its own..
but people look at gals coz they r BEAUTTIFUL...
and one shud admire that.
lol....
nahi.. country liquor!!! :P :D
hehe
Cheers!!
@Satan
yup atleast we hypocrites dont blabber like this against it...
acting, and talking are different aspects to it...
criticizing is allowed if you are also find a way to resolve it...and if u r nt.... it s better to keep ur mouth shut... is what I think
comaprsion if u are comaparing..then also comapare the population.also comapre the ireesponsibel youth
also comapre the time we got to reach here, and the time they had to come to this point...
@Nirmal
I agree to waht u said...and in the post just wanted to say the same...
dont get tempted to what others offer you.. if you like a place..build ur own home in a way...
@Nirmal
Admire...
you could do that..but ask gals... hw people admire them...
:-))
it basically depends upon the mentality...
@ankur
lol:-))
u drink kya..??
didnt had clue abt this;-))
heheeh i dont look at gals feeling "i need to rape u"....
heheehe...
its simple a glance or look..nothing vulgar..
@Nirmal
LOL..
even I said that...it depnds upon the mentality..
and it never meant the way u took it up;-))
well said.... and specially I hate when people who have been brought up here drinking tap water and eating what not,come back and ask for "Bisleri".I remember an incident ..a woman , who moved after getting married to an INR and comlaining in front of kids .."India has lot of flies and is dirty." really don't understand this..If this is what you teach your younger generation how can we even expect any other national to respect India..
LOL!!!
U sound to be to angry.... Dont allow the emotions to flow tht much.
criticizing is allowed if you are also find a way to resolve it...and if u r nt.... it s better to keep ur mouth shut... is what I think
So u think tht those who critize have also to find the way out and those who dont critize need not have to find the way out. N way out means its a collective decision a one man cannot change things, its requites the effort of population simultaneously.
comaprsion if u are comaparing..then also comapare the population.also comapre the ireesponsibel youth
Countries like Hongkong, Japan, Netherlands etc have population density greater than us. There is alwayz two sides of a coin. We can take this huge population on our advantage also, if our GDP per capita is same like other developed country then our GDP will be HUGE. But the sad part is this population has gone in negative side.
N I didnt get your point regarding time to reach here? Is the reference from independence of the country. Well countries singapore is younger than us.
N I expect healthy debate here, ur comment sounds that ur gettin to irritated. :)
hehehe ok...
Nice and true post............
Nothing in the world can compare the spirit of india.....
We might be poor but we people have a big and kind heart......
hey Gurl
That was one hellova post... glad i read it...:)
well, as they say each one to their own... For us India will always remain HOME... :)i have friends, who live abroad, but always say they miss home, where there is warmth and ppl care abt each other...
but at times i do wish our ppl were diff.. their attitude, mentality, and the way they behave[they= the ones who are wierd,eve teasing, making fun of,hi n mightey types]
gr8 post...simply gr8!
